What is a fund and how do I start one?
The Fresno RiteCare Childhood Language Center, a program of the California Scottish Rite Foundation, supports children in and around Fresno and provides scholarships to deserving students in undergraduate and graduate work. A donor may temporarily or permanently (endow) restrict his/her support for a specific area. ONLY the donor may restrict the use of his or her donation. A minimum donation of $25,000 is needed to establish a Program Fund. Please call (714) 547-7325 for more information on establishing funds. Our Chief Philanthropy Officer would be happy to meet with you to discuss your desire to establish a fund.
What is an endowment and why is it important?
A financial endowment is a transfer of money or property donated to an institution, usually with the stipulation that it be invested, and the principal remain intact in perpetuity or for a defined time period. This allows for the donation to have a much greater impact over a long period of time than if it were spent all at once. A permanent endowment allows the Fresno RiteCare Childhood Language Center, a program of the California Scottish Rite Foundation, to plan confidently for the future. An Endowment seeds new programs not typically funded through donations, provides support for new ventures in established programs, and makes it possible to attract and retain the best and brightest employees.
